VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland (VALTION TEKNILLINEN TUTKIMUSKESKUS is an impartial expert organisation that develops technologies, creates innovations and brings added value to products, and thereby increases customer's competencies. With its know-how and global networking, VTT produces research, development, testing and information services for the Finnish public sector and industry, as well as for international companies and organisations.

VTT’s competences allocated in ACTMOST belong to VTT MicroModule Centre and VTT Centre for Printed Intelligence (CPI). The total staff number is ~140.

VTT MicroModule Centre aims towards developing processing, packaging and integration technologies by combining already mature processes with novel fabrication methods. Application areas cover a wide range, including optical and electrical sensors, intelligent materials and optoelectronic and electronic components and modules. Multidisciplinary combination of technologies provides interconnections between the macroscopic and microscopic worlds. The facilities include clean room environment equipped with lithography, imprinting, screen-printing process lines for thick and thin film applications.

VTT’s Centre for Printed Intelligence (CPI) is a strategic initiative to integrate multidicplinary technology of; printing like mass-manufacturing methods, ink-like innovative material technology, and functionalities created from electronics, biotechnology, chemistry, optics, optoelectronics or their combinations within VTT.
